On March 13th 2013, after two days of voting and on the fifth ballot, a two-thirds majority of the vote finally went to Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires. He chose the name as Pope Francis (a first). He is the first Pope to be selected from the “new world” (i.e., non-European), and is also the first Pope from the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).
Please continue to pray for our new Pope Francis, that he will continually be guided by the Holy Spirit in his ministry.
