Several weeks ago, I formed a Search Committee to help me choose a new Principal for our School. The Committee consisted of our School Supervisor, a Principal of a Catholic Grade School, the President of our School Board and a parent from our School. The position of Principal was advertised throughout the Archdiocese and we had many (over 20) applicants, with experience apply. There would have been more, if we had not decided to bring that stage of the application process to a close. I had been told in advance that our School would attract many, very good, experienced, talented and interested applicants and it did!
I’m very happy to announce to you that we welcome Mrs. April Beuder as the new Principal for the 2012-13 school year. Mrs. Beuder comes to us with over a decade of experience as a Catholic educator, catechist, and administrator. She will be the first to tell you though, that her 21 years of parenting three children – Steven, Christopher, and Matthew are just as valuable to her as her formal education and professional experience. She and her husband Mike recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and the South Bay has been their family’s home for generations. They enjoy going to the beach, spending time with family, and watching a good soccer game. In words of Mrs. Beuder, “I am honored to be joining the school community at this exciting time. I look forward to getting to know you all and am eager to share my vision for the future of this dynamic school. I want to thank Mrs. Cheryl Hunt for her support and for sharing her extensive knowledge with me. I also want to thank Father Ray for welcoming me into this beautiful parish.”
