Church Ministry Lenten Retreat/Orientation on March 8th

The word “liturgy” in the Greek translation means “public service”. So, when we gather for mass it is in the spirit of service to each other! We are called to gather and celebrate the Eucharist by hearing the Word of God proclaimed and receiving the Body & Blood of Christ. The “liturgy” part of it is where we come in to serve the people of God. If God has been dropping hints to you that you should become part of the team of lay ministers who proclaim the readings (known as “lectors”) or help distribute during communion (known as “Eucharistic ministers”), we would like to offer you an opportunity to be trained and to fellowship with our experienced ministers. All current lectors and Eucharistic ministers are highly encouraged to attend. We will cover the appropriate ways to set up for liturgy for both areas of ministry. We will also guide you through “real life” scenarios so that you will be ready to serve with graceful confidence. The retreat is on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the church at 9:00am. If you have any questions, please contact our Head Sacristan, Danny Villa at [email protected] or the Director of Music & Liturgy, Bobbi Lynn Lambert at [email protected].
