From Fr. Ray

Please plan to join in the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe – December 12th. The Schedule of Masses will be Midnight, 8:00AM and 7:00PM. Bishop Alex will join us for the Mananitas and Mass at Midnight. Bishop Joe will be with us for the 7:00PM Mass. It is our day to give thanks to our Blessed Mother for the many blessings received through her intersession for us. Allow this day to be a blessing for you and your family.

Thanks to all those who are helping with the restoration of our image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In helping please use an envelope or check so that we can include your name or the name of your love one in our scroll to be presented to Our Blessed Mother and be remembered in our Novena of Masses.

The Holiday Season is getting closer. It always is a very busy time here at Church and in your family. In the midst of your busy Season, commit yourself to making this Season memorable. Create some wonderful memories for yourself and your family. Remember frequent, if not daily, acts of kindness. Use this Season to grow in Faith, Hope and Love.

When Fr. Jude was with us, he reminded me as well as many of you in his homily of the 21st Century philosopher, Oprah Winfrey. Oprah encourages each of us to write down five things that we are grateful for, each day, before you go to bed. Being grateful is the heart of the Christian life. A grateful heart will transform your life.

In opening the mail recently, I was very surprised to learn of a gift to our parish. A man, who belonged to a neighboring parish, remembered us as he wrote a charitable gift annuity. The check was for about $3,000. This unexpected gift will be used to help families in need of financial support in our School. Charitable gift annuities are a way to help you with a continued income source in life while at the same time helping a charity in death. It is one way to leave a legacy. Early next year, we will be having a seminar which will include wills, trusts and annuities. For more information, you can call Dick Closson at the Archdiocese – 213-637-7472.
