A Lenten Message From Fr. Ray

Fr. Ray at the BeachA very good Lenten practice is to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation – Confession. Fr. Lazaro and myself are available very Saturday morning – 9:00 to 10:00. We will also have our parish Communal Penance service on Wednesday, March 28th at 7:30. On that evening many of our neighboring priests will join us. With what is available here at OLG and with all the neighboring Communal Penances services that you are invited to, you should have many, many opportunities for the reception of the Sacrament. Please plan to attend one.

On each Friday of Lent at 7:00, we are celebrating the Stations of the Cross. The Stations were a development of prayer based upon the Passion and death of Jesus Christ. The practice of celebrating the Stations began in Jerusalem and then spread throughout the Church by the Franciscans. As in past years, our Stations will be bilingual – booklets will be available in both Spanish and English.

Invite Christ to be a part of your journey of Lent. Allow the light of Christ to enter any darkness in your life. May you live in the freedom of God’s children, living in God’s Peace and Love.
